A 2-Day Vintage-Inspired Graphic Design Workshop with Beth Mathews

Learn how to create vintage-inspired graphics through storytelling and digital design. Led by designer Beth Mathews, this in-person Los Angeles-based workshop includes live design demos, guided work sessions, creative play, and one-on-one feedback.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to build a vintage design library with ephemera scans, ink stamps, and type references

  • Learn my Illustrator to Photoshop workflow for creating layered, aged, and tactile digital graphics

  • How to use vintage references to craft authentic, story-driven visuals

  • Explore behind-the-scenes case studies showing how these methods come to life for brands and clients

What You’ll Create

  • A vintage-inspired digital graphic (plus a follow-up “homework” project)

  • A digital asset library of type, numbers, and textures

  • Practical skills for authentically aging your designs

  • A mix of teaching, design exercises, creative play, and hands-on making

  • Group lunches with fellow workshop participants in my favorite neighborhood in Los Angeles

The Workshop:

  • The in-person workshop will be hosted at Meadow, a beautifully designed coworking space in Northeast Los Angeles’s Highland Park Neighborhood. Morning coffee, tea, and pastries will be provided. (Group lunches are not included in the price)

  • Participants are asked to bring a laptop with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop installed.

  • This workshop has space for 8 participants, in hopes of creating an intimate and safe space for all

How Much Does the Workshop Cost?

  • The workshop costs $650, paid in two installments with a 50% deposit upfront deposit to reserve your spot.
